WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule that is normally found in the body: at the level of the eye, in the joints, in the skin. It is a completely biocompatible and fully biodegradable product; the extent of its properties has allowed the development of different forms of the same product to adapt it to the several types of treatments :
– Hydration and revitalization in mesotherapy and skin boosters
– Softening of superficial wrinkles
– Correction of deep wrinkles and volumes
– Volume enhancement
WHAT IS THE PRINCIPLE OF HYALURONIC ACID TREATMENT?
The aim of the treatment is to correct, in a simple and quick way, some signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines at the forehead, around the mouth, mouth to nose folds, marionette lines or sadness aspect and sunken cheeks.
Give back volume or improve facial features such as plumping the lips, redrawing the contour of the mouth, defining the cheekbones, filling and softening hollow eyes, correcting nose irregularities, enhance a retracted chin and give volume back to the temples, restore hands volume and in some cases acne scars, chickenpox, trauma scars correction.
HOW LONG WILL A HYALURONIC ACID TREATMENT LAST?
Commonly a hyaluronic acid treatment greatly attenuates an unsightly trait or produces a volumising effect immediately, the effect will remain in time, the correction is only temporary, and the treatment will have to be renewed to maintain the result.
The durability of the result will depend on the type of hyaluronic acid used and the personal metabolism, usually between 8 and 12 months.
HOW IS THE HYALURONIC ACID TREATMENT CONDUCTED BY DR. GUZMAN?
After discussing with you your desires and needs, I will examine you. An assessment of your state of health will allow me to evaluate the possibility of doing the treatment, possible contraindications (known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, pregnant woman or breastfeeding) because it is necessary to consider important conditions as if you are suffering from cold sores for injections around the mouth.
I will advise you about the places where the treatment with hyaluronic acid will produce the most interesting results to make you more attractive, less tired.
With your consent photos will be taken to be able to evaluate the result.
My training as a plastic surgeon allows me to adapt the techniques of surgery to aesthetic medicine, for this reason I like to work with cannulas (small tubes with a blunt tip), through a single point of entry. The cannula makes possible to distribute the filling product in the desired areas in a gentle way by reducing the risk of bruising and for a more efficient and natural result.
An injection of local anaesthesia (the same product used for dental anaesthesia) at the entry point, helps us to make a comfortable and pain-free injection session.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF A HYALURONIC ACID FILLING TREATMENT?
Immediately after the treatment the result is already visible, a slight swelling and discreet redness will be present after the first hours of treatment and fade during the first 24 hours.
A massage with a post-treatment cream rich in arnica and hyaluronic acid will finish the filling session. The gentle massage of the treated areas is recommended the first 3 to 5 days.
Make-up is immediately allowed.
If you are predisposed to have bruises, treatment with Arnica tablets is recommended 5 days before the filling session and 5 days later to reduce the risk of bruising.
Be aware to stop any aspirin or aspirin like medications 10 days before the hyaluronic acid treatment.
A follow-up appointment between 15 days to a month is organized to evaluate with you the results.
